From one headache to a small-batch herbal brand
A stubborn headache
For years I was suffering from pretty bad headaches, often enough that I’d call in sick or be miserable at work.
My mom’s remedy
My mom gave me an herbal remedy she said would take the headache away. I only tried it to appease her, and it actually worked. It happened again the next time, too. That was no coincidence.
Finding Janell Cole
That curiosity led me to Janell Cole of MOBU Herbals. I worked alongside her for five years, learning everything she knew about herbs and how to use them.
Carrying her legacy
Janell passed away unexpectedly in 2019. I had two choices: walk away, or keep her legacy going. Becoming an herbalist wasn’t easy, it took years before I had the confidence to make my first product, a body butter inspired by hers. Balms, lotion sticks, and herbal oils followed.
GeoBlends is born
I started GeoBlends selling only her products. Eventually I got brave enough to start selling my own. In her memory, I make products meant to help people.
In memory of Janell Cole
Janell is the reason I discovered herbal products at all. She is the reason I understand what thoughtful formulation looks like, why ingredient integrity matters, and what it means to serve people rather than just sell to them.
GeoBlends exists because of her, not just as a response to losing her, but as a continuation of the values she lived and the work she poured herself into. Every product I make carries what she taught me.
